Comprehensive services to sustain beautiful, healthy & safe trees, shrubs & landscapes

Tree Care

Annual Programs

Timely seasonal applications are an important feature of our annual programs, resulting in control of disease and pests common to our area such as hemlock woolly adelgid, birch leaf-miner, scale insects and gypsy moth. Proper pruning and fertilization are equally important elements of our service which is committed to improving the environment by sustaining your trees.

Pruning

This is a vital element of tree maintenance. The benefits of proper pruning include: removal of potential hazards, improved tree health and vigor as well as enhancing a tree’s natural beauty. The careful and artistic pruning of large trees has distinguished Sandweiss Tree Service since our inception.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis of disease, insects and mechanical tree problems is the fundamental starting point of our service. A state-licensed arborist will inspect your trees and devise a suitable program targeted at your particular tree problems, as part of the initial, free estimate.

Insect & Disease Control

Spray applications are recommended to control insects and fungal diseases only when they present a threat to tree health. Our programs follow the recommendations and guidelines of the CT Agricultural Experiment Station and the CT Department of Environmental Protection. Our emphasis is on ecologically sound practices, such as using horticultural oils and biological controls in all instances where compatible with tree health.

Lyme Disease Prevenetion

Several professional spray applications per year eliminate deer ticks lurking in the low woody growth, which transmit Lyme disease, ensuring protection for your family from this dangerous disease.

Root Fertilization

Urban/suburban trees lack the support systems nature provides them in the forests. Instead of replenishing the soil, fallen leaves and plant litter are removed, soil is compacted and competition with turf and exotic species is fierce. Liquid root feeding replenishes depleted soil, aerates and waters the root zone, greatly improving the health of stressed urban trees.

Removals

Our skilled climbers are adept at rigging, lowering and removing trees in the most difficult situations. We also consider meticulous clean-up to be an equally important part of the total job.
